Exhibition Stand Builder for Vakantiebeurs 2027 – The GetAway
A stand that turns daydreams into travel plans
Visitors don't come to the Vakantiebeurs to buy. They come to dream. They walk the halls with one open question: where shall we go this year? Your stand is where that answer starts to take shape. That's why Eldee designs stands for this fair that feel like a preview of the journey itself, with atmosphere, light, imagery and room for real conversations.
The GetAway | 7 – 10 January 2027 | Jaarbeurs Utrecht
From 2027, the Vakantiebeurs, the Netherlands' leading holiday fair, continues as The GetAway – An experience by Vakantiebeurs. The new name reflects a clear shift: fewer brochures and standard information, more experience, inspiration and personal travel advice. For exhibitors, this means a stand should let visitors experience something. A table full of leaflets is no longer enough.
The fair is open from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 January 2027, daily from 10:00 to 17:00, at Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
Exhibiting in the Netherlands
Many exhibitors at the Vakantiebeurs travel in from abroad. Tourist boards, destinations and international tour operators all face the same challenge: building a strong presence at a fair in another country, far from their own team. That's where we come in.
As a Dutch stand builder based just 30 minutes from Jaarbeurs Utrecht, we know the venue, its regulations and its build-up procedures inside out. You get one point of contact for design, production, logistics, build-up and dismantling. We handle the communication with the fair organiser, so you can focus on your destination and your visitors.
Trade fair success means meeting customers for life.
What makes a great travel stand
A stand at a consumer travel fair calls for a different approach than one at a trade show. Visitors browse, let themselves be tempted and decide on feeling. A few things make the difference.
Atmosphere over information. Large-scale destination imagery, warm lighting and materials that suit the country or type of travel draw visitors in.
An experience that sticks. Think of a tasting of regional produce, a photo moment visitors will share, or a screen that lets them explore the destination before they go.
Space for personal advice. A good layout has an open front for browsers and quiet seating for those who want to talk about a trip in more detail.
A clear next step. Let visitors do something on the spot: book a trip, sign up for an offer or take home a tailored brochure. That way, you can measure what the fair delivered.
From first conversation to build-up in Utrecht
We work with a clear process. In an introductory meeting, online or at our office, we discuss what you want to achieve at the fair and which travellers you want to reach. About two weeks later, you receive a 3D design with a detailed quote. Once approved, we produce the stand in our own workshop and handle all communication with the fair organiser. During build-up, our team is on site, so all you need to do on opening morning is welcome your visitors.
Wherever possible, we build with reusable elements. With new graphics, the same stand can be used again at other fairs later in the year.
FAQ The GetAway
The Vakantiebeurs 2027 takes place from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 January 2027 at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the Netherlands, daily from 10:00 to 17:00. From this edition onwards, the fair is called The GetAway – An experience by Vakantiebeurs. It’s the same event at the same venue, with a new name and a stronger focus on experience and inspiration.
Yes. The GetAway is the new name of the Vakantiebeurs, often referred to in English as the Dutch Holiday Fair. The concept puts more emphasis on experience, inspiration and personal travel advice. For exhibitors, that means a stand that lets people experience something, not just one that informs.
Yes. We take care of the entire project: design, production, transport, build-up, dismantling and communication with the fair organiser. Meetings can take place online, and you’ll see your stand in 3D before anything is produced.
For a custom stand, we recommend allowing about three to four months of preparation. Keep in mind that the December holidays fall within this period. Decided to exhibit at a later stage? Get in touch anyway. With our own design team and workshop, we can often move quickly.
The cost depends on the stand size, the type of stand (inline, corner, peninsula or island), materials, lighting and any audiovisual equipment. For a custom stand, prices start from around €400 per m². You receive a 3D design with a detailed quote in advance, so you know exactly where you stand.
By telling one clear story. Choose which feeling or destination takes centre stage and translate it into imagery, light and materials. A recognisable eye-catcher that’s visible from a distance, combined with an inviting, open front, works better than a stand packed with information.
The fair organiser and Jaarbeurs set requirements for building height, fire safety and open sides, among other things, and certain constructions must be submitted for approval in advance. We take these into account from the very first sketch and prepare all the necessary drawings and documentation.
